The success of the Guyana Awards & Guyana Festival is credited to the dedication and enthusiasm of our committee members and volunteers!

The Festival would not be possible without the support of its 200+ volunteers every year. Their commitment and enthusiasm help to make the Festival unique for its friendliness and give it a distinctly Guyanese flavour.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us in the planning committees and on the weekend of the Festival. You can help us make the Festival even better by volunteering. Here is a partial list of activities to choose from:    

•       Assisting our Cultural show Manager with ticket sales and ushering.

•       Assisting our Security coordinator in directing human and motor vehicle traffic

•       Providing assistance to our patrons and volunteers in various activities

•       Assist at the opening ceremony

•       Volunteer for the duck curry/taste of Guyana

•       Assist with senior or children’s programs

•       Assist with hosting the interfaith service

•       Assist with hosting the cricketers….and more

Being a festival volunteer has its benefits!

You'll be given a free Festival T-Shirt, a meal and invited to exclusive Festival events, a photograph with the President or Prime Minister or visiting dignitary at the event.

We also provide guidance, letters of reference and credit of hours contributed.

If your schedule does not allow you to join our volunteer corps but you would still like to support the festival, please consider becoming a “Friend of the Festival" by helping to promote the Festival from home or work.
